So, last time, I crammed a bunch of triangles into a square. At first, I was going to cram a bunch of squares into a triangle, but it turns out that doing so is much harder than I thought. So, instead, I crammed a bunch of squares into a hexagon. Surprisingly enough, it worked well!

The design has surprisingly good light return, which probably stems from the fact that there's a lot of checkerboarding. The reflection pattern pretty clearly shows the square checkers, especially when the stone is rocked back and forth. I'm a big fan of the way there's that interesting extinction pattern in the corners, but I don't think those will show up in a finished stone, unfortunately. The design works in materials from feldspar to CZ (RI = 1.52 - 2.16) with no changes.

The pavilion cuts very easily, since it's a standard CAM. The crown is also decently easy, but the there's one tight meetpoint that can mess up the checkerboard if that meet is off (C2, C3, C4, C6, C8). Other than that, it should be pretty easy to cut.
