I designed this after converting Robert Longs's Highlight Heart 72 to a 96 index gear (the ready made 96 version wasn't quite good enough).

Turns out you can avoid a trilliant reflection pattern by having the mains facets just slightly out of the 3-way symmetry that tends to make a base for the outline of brilliant hearts.

This design is more suited to an advanced cutter who is comfortable with using the cheater to correct meets in the crown, as the split mains must be precisely cut or problems show up in the star facets. The C19 facet can be adjusted to fit so as long as the meetpoints are good on other facets there shouldn't be much of a problem.

Most materials should do well with this heart, as long as you leave the crown angles shallow enough to allow for some reflection near the edge of the design. I recommend trying it in feldspar or danburite to make the most of the fine pattern it has.

If you cut this, please consider posting an image here or messaging me on the forum with a picture of the cut stone.
