Beginner Pear - Michiko Huynh

In general, the fewer the symmetry in the faceting design, the harder it is to cut. However, despite its 1-fold mirror symmetry, this pear design is easy to cut. Follow the diagram carefully.

When transfer the stone, use a V dop and align the V groove to 96-48. The crown facets J and K cut quickly and tend to be over-cut. Set the mast height so the stone barely touches the lap and proceed little by little.

It is good for most gem materials. It seems to deepen the color.
