Pentagonal minibarion - Marco Voltolini

Test-cut in almost colorless topaz (hint of blue)

I really like the A. Wolkonsky concept of minibarion, so I decided to design a pentagonal minibarion myself. They work well in almost any material and they are fast and easy to cut. This one is no exception even if a little more work in the pavilion is required because of the small culet facets. I've cut this in topaz and tourmaline and I like the stones I got. I set the angles of this design to work also with quartz. For much higher RI's you may want to tweak the angles (especially raising the crown) to get some more sparkle/dispersion, even if this design should work very well anyway.
