Hard Roku - Marco Voltolini
This is a triangular checkerboard cut with an hexagonal outline. The "bars" in the pavilion give a very nice reflections pattern, and a good amount of sparkle.
In the pavilion two tiers have no meets and some eyeball calibration is needed to cut even "bars". The crown is quite easy to cut, for a checkerboard, but some attention is needed.
This design has been optimized for quartz (no need to worry about the tier of the pavilion at 41 deg, since there is no table), but it gives good results for any RI >1.53: check the renderings for quartz and garnet, and the picture of the test cut in CZ, in this page.
