This is a sample page on how a page on gemstones could look like. Use this page as a guide with common sense.

History

Here you could write some of the history, the lore and where the name came from etc.

Diagnostics

Here you could write a little about the stone and which stones it may be confused with.

Color

Describe the colors in which it occurs.

Diaphaneity

The transparency of the gemstone.

Magnification

Describe the type of inclusions (with photos if available) and maybe to which clarity grade it belongs (type I, II etc). When there are a lot of images, place them below in the "Inclusion images" section.

Refractometer

The RI readings and maybe some characteristics (if any), aswell as stones it may be confused with.

Spectroscope

A spectrum (with image) if any.
Use the templates at the spectroscope page if you are creating new ones, for uniformity.

Chelsea Colour Filter

The reaction if any, aswell as for some other stones it may resemble.

Pleochroism

If any.

Polariscope

Here you could write about ADR, conoscope images etc.

Luminescence

Fluorescence and phophorescence (please report the light source - LW-UV or SW-UV)

Phenomena

If any.

Inclusion Images

If there are a lot of images, place them here (look at the sapphire page for an example.
