Adding tutorials with the aid of an editor

You are new to the project and wikimedia formatting and wish to add a tutorial fast and without hassle. You can do this by using the submission link on the tutorial page. The submission link is listed underneath the title of that page.

When your tutorial concerns a youtube video you can simply list your name and the link to the video. One of our editors will then see to the placing of the video. Your name will be listed if you are the maker of the video.

When your tutorial is a written text with illustrations there is a bit more to it. You can still use the submission link to enter the text but the images will have to uploaded separately. To upload the images that go with the text you will have to size them down to 150kb or less first. Then you can use the upload page to upload your files. After you have uploaded the images please notify our editor that you have images to go with the tutorial when you submit the text.

Adding tutorials yourself

Text and images

If you are willing to put your teeth into wiki formatting (it really isn't that difficult) you can create an account and read the general formatting help page to learn the basics by clicking on the links provided.

After you have mastered the basic formatting skills (you can practise to you hearts content in the sandbox) you can start a new page to write your tutorial. You start a new page by typing its title into the search box in the left menu. After hitting enter you will arrive at a blank page which you can edit.

Write your text and insert the images. More information on this can be found here

We ask you to add the following code at the bottom of the page: [[category:Video Tutorial]]. The page will then show up in the designated category. One of our editors will place it in the tutorial content page for you.

Videos

Videos can be added with the following code: <videoflash>youtube code</videoflash>

Example:

<videoflash>by0VYaYJLEU</videoflash>

results in:

<videoflash>by0VYaYJLEU</videoflash>

Add a short written description and you are nearly done. We ask you to add the following code at the bottom of the page:

[[category:Video Tutorial]].

The page will then show up in the designated category. One of our editors will place it in the tutorial content page for you.

Have fun!!
